Recall the original wiring mess (left). The finished receiver (below)
does not look like the same unit. It is much cleaner. The time it takes
to wire a unit in such a manner is significant. I can see why they
moved away from this in manufacturing. Assembly time was an
obvious place to cut cost.... unfortunately.
