Reassembly
Here is the reason I placed new leads on the output section....
Note how the wires ran under the wiring block above (This photo was taken prior to disassembly). The wires
were pinched between the block and the rail of the frame. The frame rail had actually cut through some of the
insulation on two of the wires. A short waiting to happen in my opinion. Also, the red power supply wire ran
under the block to the phono pre-amp. I just did not like this arrangement...
I don't think this is what Marantz had in mind either. I think the block was assembled to minimum hight spec,
and the rail may have been a slight bit on the high side. A fluke of manufacturing. Of course, this did make it
through 30 years, so hay... it works, but I felt a more dependable route would take all doubt out of this. So I ran
the wires around the block (see below). I added the harness anchor and the wires fell into place nicely. This is
much better I feel.
