Here is a couple of beauty shots of the inside...
Notice the nylon spacer I placed between the tone control and filter amp boards. These plug into a
plastic socket in the push-button board. Not a hard plastic interface mind you, but a standard plastic
pronged plug....
These flex and move and "settle-in"
over time if pressure is applied. The
pressure in this case was caused by
a foam pad on the inside of the
shield (cover) that pressed on the
board to keep it form touching the
metal shield. The two boards sat
dangerously close. The metal cans
of the transistors were just fractions
of an inch from the board in front.
This spacer will resolve possible
problems and restore proper
geometry.
