To adjust the DC offset, bias, and measure peak output voltage,
most units requires a steady 8 ohm load.
The fixture below can take 200 wpc. Each resistor is
2 ohms x 50 watts. I have them mounted to a large heat sink
which will increase the duty cycle (length of time I can have this
at peek load). Each resistor is mounted with thermal coat to
increase the efficiency of heat transfer. I use this setup most of
the time.
For those times when I am testing the "big guns" I use the 250W
resistor at right.
This heat sink can dissipate a lot of heat quickly!!!
